an 8k day - what!

the serious take :)
8kms today!!! creating a total of 53km for 2011 :D he is gonna blitz 1095kms for the year - i do not doubt it!!

andrew phoned around lunch time and asked if i would go walking with him  - how could i say no ;) - so we planned on meeting up at 2.30, cannonvale beach. destination: abel point - roughly 5kms return (?) ...
he texted me he was running 10 minutes late - 10 to 3 he shows up, just when i was about to send a blasting text!! LUCKY!

off we trotted - along the beach and boardwalks nattering away - but, at abel point we didnt stop - he wanted to keep going - we went all the way to the lagoon - most impressive!
great to catch up on all things 'life' - he will HAVE to write of our adventure, and no doubt it will be hilarious as he made me laugh
i wanted a touch point at the lagoon, and said the water, he answers, the bridge :) even that little bit further :) over it we trot then start heading back - as we were crossing the rocks at the little kids pool storm phoned, and i had to leave him, to cross alone, hoping he didnt fall in and drown and have faith he made it back along that straight and narrow path without getting lost :P (ok, it isnt straight)
headed down to the beach and spent some time with her while she was on a break - when she went back into work, texted to see where he was and he was just passing the basketball court in cannonvale
i ran back the slightly quicker shorter, though less scenic, hillier way, along the main road over policeman hill, and when i returned to cannonvale beach to pick up my car, he was still sitting at the shelter drinking orange juice. oh tough hey!! i was a ball of sweat. he was chillin' and doing it easy!
a hobo dude joined in our conversation - andrew reckons he was off a boat, dunno bout that one! re: why coles has less fruit and vegies than woolies ... which brought to the forefront, food - as important as the walk :D what goes in your mouth IS as important as the exercise you do, if not moreso ...
think hope he is already seeing that

8kms, thats a mighty fine sized walk! for anyone

not sure how much info he wants to put out there, so i wont say his weight, thats personal until he is ready to share, but i WILL share this, and hope that's ok - he has lost 5kgs so far. that is awesome. some (a lot?!) of changes to diet, and walking. im super proud.
go andrew!!!
